The season is finally here! This past weekend was the opening weekend of NCAA Division 1 Soccer, so let’s take a look at the immediate impact some of our Athleticademix athletes have made!
Hannah Dike-Lawlor, Queens University of Charlotte, had an opening weekend to remember! She came off the bench in the opening game, a 0-0 draw vs Campbell. Hannah then started the second game, which ended as a 1-1 draw against Gardner-Webb. She was named Player of the Match in that game!
Charlotte Lee and Olivia Lowe, Morehead State University, both started in both this weekends games – losing one and winning one!
University of Louisiana Monroe started their season with an emphatic 4-1 victory against Southeastern Louisiana. Anna Roldaan started in this game, as well as their second game vs Central Arkansas. Her ex-Liverpool teammate, Fi Wilby, made her debut for Lamar University, starting both games. They played University of Louisiana Lafaytte and Texas A&M. There were also appearances for their two more of their ex-Liverpool teammates Chloe and Bo Price, both getting minutes in their openers for Long Island University.
Liv Moulton started for Central Michigan in their second game of the weekend against Loyola Chicago, ending in a narrow 1-0 defeat. Jess Cooper – Canisius, Erin O’Shea – Murray State and Ryeesa Sekhon– Cal Baptist also made opening weekend appearances, as Freshman!
Elsewhere, Maddie Williams played 90 mins in both games for App State, securing two wins! Sophie Morrin started both games for University of Oklahoma, earning two 4-1 wins against Creighton and their rivals Oklahoma State!
University of Alabama at Birmingham is home to Mia Leath and Maisie Wilson. Both girls started in their opener against University of Central Florida, and Mia bagged herself a goal in the 1-1 draw to East Tennessee State University!
We’re so excited for this upcoming season to get in full swing, and can’t wait to keep watching our Athleticademix Family continue to thrive in College Soccer!
