About Issy

Issy Payne is a versatile Central Defender/Central Defensive Midfielder, from Sussex, England and she is looking for Fall 2024 college options.

Issy plays for Brighton & Hove Albion FC’s Academy, most recently with the U21 WSL Development team. Here, she regularly competes  against the best academy sides in the UK (Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Aston Villa et al).

Issy is very comfortable on the ball and a well accomplished defensive player. She can play as a strong, simplistic Centre Back or in a more creative Central Defensive Midfield role. She enjoys getting forward when possible and has the technical ability to combine with teammates in the attacking third.

Academically, Issy is strong. She has a GPA of 3.42 currently, which will rise upon completion of her A Level’s. Issy is also doing a Diploma in Sporting Excellence, which she will also complete in Spring 2024. She scored 1070 on the SAT.
