About Millie

Millie Elwood is a Fall 2024 recruit currently playing in England for Reading FC in the WSL U21 Development League (highest tier of U21 football in the UK) where she has played every minute so far this season and captained the U16’s last year.

She also regularly trains with the Reading FC 1st Team who are part of the WSL and played for them in pre-season against SouthamptonFC.

Millie is a Central Midfielder with a tremendous work rate and ability to cover ground. Whilst she can play as a #6 or #10, she is deployed most commonly as a #8 for Reading, where she is the focal point of her team’s build-up play.

On the ball, Millie is composed and possesses excellent technical skills. Her passing range is a key strength and she tries to play forward/between lines at every opportunity.

Defensively, Millie reads the game exceptionally well and frequently disrupts opposition play. An advanced understanding of  her position and role enable Millie to anticipate effectively and lead by example.

Millie has been involved with England youth national team camps at the U15 and U16 level.

Academically, Millie is very strong and maintains a GPA of approx. 3.85. She is keen on studying Law in future, so interested in majors which will help her go on to do that after graduation.
